The all-new Fray is here, and there’s plenty to talk about. As with their MOG gravel bike and Melee road bike, ENVE’s Fray starts as a frameset, and then you’ll put your semi-custom build on it with their Chassis Concept to ensure Fray's components are a match for you.
Fray Is An Aero Endurance Bike
At Fray’s foundation is ENVE’s Real-World Fast tech of drag-reducing tube shapes, hidden cables, and an aero-optimized frame that zips along at its best when paired with 31-35mm tires. Geo is just the right of everything: a taller frontend than MOG for long-hour comfort, but with a shorter wheelbase much closer to Melee for agility and responsiveness. Speed, comfort, fun... that’s a delicious all-road recipe if you ask us.
It’s Geared For You
Fray fits up to 40mm tires in 1x, but, like mentioned above, is optimized to show its best ride quality on 31-35mm tires in a 2x setup (up to 38mm max). That said, we’d expect most of you would want to go with a 2x setup, which Fray fits chainrings of up to 53/39t in Shimano and 50/37t in SRAM. But if you feel you’ll do more chunky roads, Fray will fit up to a 55t in a 1x setup. And while the Fray is SRAM UDH-ready, it doesn't play nice with T-Type or mullet drivetrains, so check with our Gearhead® Experts when picking your ideal drivetrain.
